To-Do List Options

Behavior and appearance of To-Do List can be customized via its options .

These settings apply only for the current user.

Template

The New assembly template field defines a template for a Piping subassembly when it is used by Create subassembly in CAD.

If the field is empty (no template selected) the default template is used.

P&ID Source

In addition to the Smap3D P&ID projects, To-Do List can also process P&ID's in the form of XML files.

For the detailed information about processing XML files (and their format), please contact Smap3D sales.

Appearance

In the standard application (integrated in CAD as ribbon) this option has no effect/significance.

Just when running as CAD external application, toolbar is displayed (can be set by checking Display toolbar) and its position (left or right) within the To-Do List form can be set.

The Default tree view setting specifies the initial status (expanded or collapsed) of the tree view after To-Do List opening or assigning a project.

When Show connected connections only is checked, the connection points which are not connected in Smap3D P&ID project are not displayed in To-Do List tree view.

Settings

Display messages after actions informs on results of functions assigning components and pipelines.

Use P&ID object groups for analysis allows To-Do List to take Smap3D P&ID object groups into account while analyzing P&ID.

This is particularly useful in cases when a P&ID (or its part) has no unambiguous pipeline representation (see Object group for details).

If Use P&ID To-Do List checks before Piping recalculate and refresh function is set and the P&ID To-Do List runs then Piping checks whether the 3D components (corresponding to the P&ID components) are placed on the proper pipeline paths. Checks are run automatically when performing one of the Piping recalculate or refresh commands (see Recalculating a Pipeline, Recalculating a Region, Refreshing Pipelines, Refreshing a Region).

Regardless of the option, the checks are run at each pipeline or component assignment.

Load Mechanical Accessories displays mechanical accessories in the To-Do List as sub nodes with + icon.
It is possible to assign mechanical accessory items to the 3D objects.

Run recalculate after pipeline assignment automatically recalculates the 3D pipeline just assigned to a To-Do List.

If the Use favorite fittings automatically option is set, the future generating or editing of the pipelines assigned from the P&ID To-Do List (using the Assign pipeline or  Place fitting to CAD command) will use favorites automatically (instead of displaying the non-unique fittings dialog).

Check redundant 3D objects against P&ID project option activates a check for redundant (unassigned) 3D components placed on assigned pipelines.

The check is performed automatically after running any of the recalculate or refresh commands (see Recalculating a Pipeline, Recalculating a Region, Refreshing Pipelines, Refreshing a Region) with the To-Do List launched.

If any redundant component is found a message is displayed and the component(s) highlighted.

Information about redundant component(s) is also stored within the respective Smap3D P&ID project file (*.PRO) and is displayed as a warning when the file is opened next time.

That is why the setting requires the write access to the project file.

Load PCE symbols loads PCE symbols to the To-Do List which can be assigned to 3D objects.

Display Configuration

The controls in this section serve to manage the appearance of the To-Do List in terms of the tree view content.

The availability of the controls can be managed by administrator in Plant Design Administrator (User can change display of P&ID properties option in the Piping Common tab).

In the Items to display grid (left) there are listed Component and Pipeline properties.

The selected (checked) properties and also all available symbol data (respective to individual symbols and lines in P&ID) are displayed in the properties table and also written to CAD occurrences (as virtual characteristics) when assigned.

The properties selected in the Display column are displayed in the To-Do List tree view.

Appearance and structuring of the tree view can be adjusted using the grid on the right (To-Do List layout) and the checkboxes below.

If the Set groups visible and Allow group change options are set, it is possible to define groups and their structure.

This can be done by dragging and dropping the respective column headers above the header row.

If the Hide group columns option is active, the columns set as groups are removed from the header.

If set, the Show filters option allows to display and use filters for values in each column.

Since the grid is used to adjust, but also as a preview of the To-Do List appearance, it could be useful to activate Set groups visible and Allow group change, adjust the groups, and then unset the options to not display the group structure preview in the final To-Do List.

Export and Import saves and loads To-Do List layouts in the form of .pids files.

In addition to backup, it can also be used for sharing layouts.

Defaults sets the default layout.
