Assigning Pipelines

Assigning a pipeline to an existing pipeline path provides not only a definition of the 3D pipeline geometry, but also information on pipe specification, diameter (DN), and flow direction which will be used for following 3D pipeline generating process.

As a result of the assignment, the selected pipeline path is renamed. The name is taken from 2D pipeline (appropriate line(s) in P&ID).

How to assign a pipeline to a pipeline path

To assign a pipeline to a pipeline path, follow these steps:

1. Select an unassigned pipeline in To-Do List.
   
2. Start Assign pipeline .
   
3. Select the desired pipeline path in Smap3D Piping tree view.
   
4. If the supplementary selection form appears, select also the other pipe specification parameter values (for the selection to be unambiguous) and select OK.

How to unassign a pipeline

To unassign an already assigned pipeline, follow these steps:

1. Select an assigned pipeline in To-Do List.
   
2. Select the Unassign pipeline .
