Create Route

Create Route easily and quickly creates a pipeline path with pipes and components already on it without using any more functions.

After using this function, the pop-up window shows up asking whether the route should be in active assembly or in a new sub assembly. If you select the active assembly, a new sketch is created and the sketch mode is started.

If you select new subassembly, enter a file name and select OK (if you use Create Route from To-Do List, the sub assembly name is taken from the selected P&ID pipeline). The new sub assembly is created, a new sketch is created and the sketch mode is automatically started.

Afterwards you need to select which function is optimal for you:

Auto Route

Auto Route automatically creates a 3D sketch path between two points. After you select this function you need to select the Pipe Specification and size of the pipe you want to create.

Then select a point, where your pipe will start and the second point, where your pipe will end. Adjust the path with native CAD functions and exit the sketch mode.

New pipeline path(s) will be created and in accordance with the Switch to detail engineering after finish route setting, piping will generate detail or basic engineering based on the selected Pipe Specification.

Manual Route

Manual Route draws a pipeline path manually. After you select this function you need to select the Pipe Specification and size of the pipe you want to create.

Click on a point or somewhere you want to start the pipeline path. By using native CAD functions, draw a pipeline. Exit the sketch mode.

New pipeline path(s) will be created and in accordance with the Switch to detail engineering after finish route setting, piping will generate detail or basic engineering based on the selected Pipe Specification.

The place, where you start and end the route will not have influence of the flow direction.
