This article summarizes possible ways how welds can be generated in isometric drawings.
Welds are generated automatically at welding gaps in a 3d pipeline (see Gap settings).
In such cases SKEY is obtained from ISO_WELD_SKEY property (see Components Specification) of pipeline path or from PCF options.
Welds are generated automatically in those points where two components with welded End Treatment are connected.
The weld type depends on components CATEGORY value.
It is possible to create and use within a pipeline a special CAD part representing a weld.
Such a part should have two end points defined by INPUT_POINT/OUTPUT_POINT coordinate systems and custom property ComponentType with value of WELD.
Optionally, such a part could also contain all sorts of information, including SKEY.
When generating isometrics, the required weld seam parameter values (Wall Thickness and Outer Diameter) for welds are read from the fittings, standard parts and pipes (if there is a weld in between). However, the necessary values must be defined in the standard parts, in the respective CSInfo (per connection point). To support the input of these required parameter values by the user, a function extension was also implemented in the Coordinate System Wizard.
Customer-specific parts and specially created standard and supplier parts, needs to have these parameters set by the user within the scope of the CSInfo definition per connection point.
