Pipe specification is generally a catalogue of piping components typically used together to form a pipeline for specific conditions (such as flowing medium, operating conditions, design parameters, etc.).
Pipe Specification Editor is an application designed for managing pipe specification files (*.psfx) containing the information on required components.
Together with these files the application also manages common settings that can affect the way Smap3D Piping handles the components specified within individual pipe specification files.
During the upgrade from Smap3D Plant Design versions 10, 11, or 12, the available pipe specifications (*.psfx files within the Pipe specifications folder) are automatically converted to the new format. The conversion involves the creation of backup copies (*.oldver) of the original files.
According to the installation and setup procedure, the conversion may be performed during the installation, when starting Pipe Specification Editor, or when saving the settings of Plant Design Administrator.
